Your Own Care Comes First
It’s time to set off for a new year again. Start the year with new hope, inspiration and set goals to achieve for a better life and better health. As the month January rolls around pledge yourself to adhere to the goals you set and start following it right from the day. The new health goals for the new year should be specific, measurable and attainable so that you can take part in it actively. Your health goals is not something strange to you. Some improvement in your common habit is enough to keep you healthy throughout the year.
First, start by picking the bottle of water
Water is the most essential elements needed by your body to carry out vital functions. It carries nutrients to your cell, flushes toxins out of your vital organs and protects your body against dehydration.
If you’re drinking 60 to 80 ounces of water per day, you’re on the way of filling your 80% of liquid requirement. To achieve this you can use a bottle that holds at least 35 ounces of water. Take it to your workplace, school or wherever you go and don’t forget to sip on it as per the set time frame(within 1 hour, 30 minutes or 15 minutes). Finish the water by midday and refill it again. Try to finish the rest by the end of the day.
From jogging, walking to fitness center
What kind of exercise you prefer? If you can’t manage time for a fitness center just give 30 minutes of the morning or evening time to brisk walking. By doing this you will be complying CDC recommendation of 150 minutes exercise per week for adults.
Don’t fall prey to skin cancer
A large number of people suffer skin cancer and millions of cases are diagnosed annually. The most harmful factor causing skin cancer is long exposure to sun rays and it can be tamed by using some artificial protection.
Use good quality sunscreen before you head out to work and reapply it in every two hours. This is the easiest goal you can achieve in 2016.
Don’t let the sun rays fall on your skin during the peak hour, from 10 am to 2 pm. It is the time when sun rays are strongest.
Make all the necessary appointments with doctors
What are the necessary appointments? Visiting your primary care doctor for regular blood pressure checkup, drastic weight loss or gains, the level of sugar in your blood are some common vital health concern that you need to check regularly. Besides, dental check up twice in a year and making an annual appointment with a dermatologist is needed for the best of your health.
